The Sims Family And Our Geekery

After a massive break, in which I completely forgot to blog, our geeky family returns!!!!!!!!! (insert trumpet fanfare). There has been much going on, with starting school, Penny saying "dada", Eureka getting cancelled (booooo!), new episodes of The Guild (yay!!!), and random illnesses.  Right now, I finally have Penny napping after an epic 2 day battle with a boogy-filled nose and very little sleep. She is beautiful and growing so fast.

Just a few updates:
-James and I are both taking classes this fall, and it is just as busy as you might imagine. I somehow tested my way into pre-calculus (yay?), and I am also taking stats and physics. I swear, I'm not a math/science geek. but I'm totally posing as one for this semester. James is taking a speech class and an intro to Word. Lucky man, that James. I offered to swap classes with him, but he gave me a look like I was out of my mind, so I took that as a no.
-I finally saw Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and I love it more than I should, I think. I didn't want the movie to end, it was that awesome. For serious. James also got me to watch Willow. Yeah. I love Warwick Davis and all, but can't say I love this movie. I think I should've watched it when I was a kid for the full effect.
-Reading for fun has pretty much gone away for the time, but I fully intend to carve out some reading time whem "Son of Neptune" finally comes out. I never read much young adult fiction as a kid, but I'm loving it now. If you haven't read the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, I highly recommend it. It's one of the few series I own. Well, that and Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia, Hitchhiker's Guide and L'engle's "Wrinkle in Time" series. Books! Check 'em out!
-Lastly, Penny has said her first word. She's still  not super consistent with it, but she now calls James "dada" and says it when he comes home. She also calls the cat and me "dada", but we're letting James have this one ;)

Next time, I will blog something less fragmented, I promise. Update posts are always messy. Later people!
